Kaichuan Qi
Welcome. I am Kaichuan Qi (戚铠川), a PhD student in mathematics at Penn State University, advised by Ping Xu and Mathieu Stiénon. Before coming to Penn State, I completed my master’s degree at KU Leuven under the supervision of Marco Zambon, and my bachelor’s degree at CUHK-Shenzhen.
Research
I work in Poisson and symplectic geometry, especially from the perspective of Lie groupoids and Lie algebroids. My current research concerns symplectic groupoids, central extensions, and their connections to differentiable stacks, S¹-gerbes, reduction, and gauge-theoretic ideas. I also work on hyper-Lie Poisson geometry and graded-geometric methods in Poisson geometry.
